IINO Selected for ESG Investment Indices "FTSE Blossom Japan Index" and "FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index" for Second Consecutive Year

IINO Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd. (IINO) is pleased to announce that in recognition of our sustainability efforts, it has been selected as an index component for the "FTSE Blossom Japan Index (*¹)" and "FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index (*²)" for the second consecutive year. These indices select Japanese companies that demonstrate strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.

FTSE Blossom Japan Index and FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index are among the indices produced by FTSE Russell, a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange. They consist of Japanese companies that meet specific ESG screening criteria. Widely recognized as leading indices for ESG investments, they are utilized by global investors, including the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), one of the world's largest public pension funds, which has adopted them as references for making its ESG investiments.

In our mid-term management plan "The Adventure to Our Sustainable Future" (April 2023 - March 2026), IINO has identified "overcoming materiality" as a key strategy to create social value. (*¹)FTSE Blossom Japan Index:
As of June 2023, the index includes 310 Japanese stocks, measuring the performance of companies with strong ESG practices. Widely used for creating and evaluating sustainable investment funds and financial products. The FTSE Blossom Japan Index is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. Companies in the FTSE Blossom Japan Index meet a range of ESG criteria.

(*²) FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index:
As of June 2023, the index comprises 605 Japanese stocks. It is designed to be sectorneutral and reflects the performance of Japanese companies with relatively better ESG responses in each sector. To promote the transition to a low-carbon economy, only companies with particularly high greenhouse gas emissions recognized for their efforts to improve their performance based on the TPI Management Quality Score are included in the index.
