Conducted Response Drill on a Major Accident Scenario
On October 4th, 2023, IINO Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd. (IINO Lines) conducted a joint accident response drill with its group company IINO Marine Service Co., LTD. (IMS).
The drill was conducted based on the assumed scenario that an Very Large Crude Oil Carrier (VLCC) managed by IMS was sailing to a discharging port, when it came into contact with the fishing nets of a fishing fleet in the Seto Inland Sea, causing falling of the crews of the fishing boat into the water and some of them to go missing. An emergency headquarters was set up at the head office, and online tools were used to coordinate with internal and external parties, share information, and confirm the emergency response system.
Following the accident response drill, a mock press conference drill was held, and a crisis management consultant conducted a training course to expand the knowledge base.
IINO Group's management policy states " Safety is the foundation of its business operations" and safety is one of our top management priorities. By sharing the new knowledge and improvements gained from the drill with the entire group, we will further strengthen our emergency response system and strive to ensure safe operations.
