Emergency Drill of our Operating Vessel
IINO Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd. (IINO) conducted a joint accident response drill with its group's ship management company IINO Marine Service Co., LTD. (IMS) on October 9th.
The drill was conducted under the scenario that a bulk carrier operated by IINO and managed by IMS lost control and collided with a bridge pier ahead of the vessel's course while sailing through the Tsurumi Passage in Tokyo Bay. In this exercise, an emergency headquarters was set up at the head office immediately after the accident to share information with internal and external parties and to confirm the emergency response system. In addition, online tools were used to ensure a quick and efficient initial response, and a simulation of how to respond to external inquiries was conducted.
IINO Group's management policy states "Safety is the foundation of its business operations" and safety is one of our top management priorities. The exercise was carried out to build up emergency response expertise and share improvements across the Group, and by conducting drills regularly, we will improve the crisis response capabilities of Group-operated vessels and continue to provide safe and secure services.
