The small gas carrier division was established in 2007 as IINO Gas Transport Co., Ltd. (here in after "IGT"), a wholly owned subsidiary of IINO Lines, by integrating the sales division and the shipowner division.
IGT has a fleet comprised mainly of small pressurized LPG carriers and provides integrated marine transportation services ranging from sales, ownership and management of ships to operation for domestic transportation in Japan and ocean transportation in coastal waters.
We operate a wide variety of vessels, including LPG carriers (high-pressure type), ethylene carriers (refrigerated type), LNG carriers, and molten sulfur carriers, and transport cargoes ranging from low-temperature to high-temperature cargoes, including LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and LNG (liquefied natural gas) as fuel gases, ethylene, propylene, C4/5 fraction, VCM (vinyl chloride monomer) as petrochemical gases, and molten sulfur.
IINO Group's small gas carrier business began in 1960, when the first pressurized coastal gas carrier in Japan, TOHO MARU, was built to transport LPG in coastal service. Since then, we have diversified the cargoes, and have expanded the scope of our operations from domestic shipping to coastal waters as the domestic and intra-Asian logistics converge according to customer needs.
Today, we hold the top class share of the domestic LPG and petrochemical gas transport volume in the industry. In 2005, we began managing the second built domestic LNG carrier, NORTH PIONEER, and operating the ethylene carrier, KISAN, in 2021. IINO Group has operated domestic ethylene carriers since 1967, and together with the TAIKASAN (built in 2017), the Group now has two ethylene carriers in operation.
IGT, as the division in charge of domestic transportation by small gas carriers of IINO Group, while strengthening cooperation with related organizations within the Group for the coastal shipping business, will continue to respond promptly and accurately to customer needs, and provide high-quality and safer services.
