Medium and Small Gas Carriers

IINO Group has been engaged in the LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and petrochemical gas transportation business since the 1960s, ahead of its competitors, and has built a long history as a pioneer in gas transportation in both the domestic and international shipping industries. We transport a variety of cargoes, such as LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), VCM (vinyl chloride monomer), propylene, etc. in oceangoing transport mainly in the Asian region, while transporting LNG by the NORTH PIONEER, the second coastal LNG carrier in Japan completed in 2005. In 2024, the world's first ammonia carrier, GAS INNOVATOR, which was designed and built under the basic certification for ammonia fueled ships by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), was delivered. The vessel will mainly transport ammonia from Southeast Asia to Northeast Asia mainly to Japan. This is our first re-entry into the ammonia transport business since 2017, and the name of the vessel reflects the company's commitment to working toward the realization of a sustainable society.

Under our Group's medium-term management plan, alongside large gas carriers, we are strengthening our sales efforts to expand customer touchpoints by promoting cross-functional sales that leverage the characteristics of different vessel types and regional markets. In the small- and medium-sized gas carrier segment, we have enhanced collaboration among related organizations within the Group and promoted sales strategies that emphasize synergy, while further diversifying cargoes and customers. With the aim of further expanding our fleet, we newly established the Gas Carriers Division II in June 2024. Subsequently, in June 2026, to strengthen our sales capabilities by integrating the sales structure of our gas carrier business, we merged Gas Carriers Division I and Gas Carriers Division II into a single Gas Carriers Division.

With Tokyo and Singapore as our main bases, we aim to further advance our know-how by leveraging our extensive experience as a pioneer in the industry.
