Artists bring color and flair to the Iino Building.

In addition to Masanori Murai’s artwork being returned to the building, several new works will be placed throughout. By integrating artwork with the building’s architectural design, the aim is to create a rich, compelling office environment.

Masanari Murai, artist of great renown

Born in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture;raised in Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture
Graduates from Bunka Gakuin,Department of Fine Arts; leaves for France
Awarded honorary mention at the 3rd International Art Exhibition
Hired as professor by Musashino Art University (employed until 1975)
Masterpieces consisting of a stone wall sculpture and a wood-mosaic mural left to Iino Hall
Awarded first prize at the 5th Modern Japanese Art Exhibition and the Education Minister’s Prize at the 3rd International Biennial Exhibition of Prints in Tokyo
Receives the Chunichi Cultural Prize and Setagaya City Culture Contribution Special Award
Receives the 6th Tsune Nakamura Award
Passes away on February 5, at the age of 93.
Masanari Murai Memorial Museum of Art opens on March 29, on the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth.
